Blue Apples

Lots going on as usual and I have started another blog (www.blogspotalittlebowerbirdsgarden.com.au ) as I realised I love taking photos of my garden and there just isnt space here for it.

I have been busy again organising my space and recovering my chairs in 'Blue Apples' has been so satisfying!

It's a quick change, simple but with maximum impact.

Spring!

I think I have been hibernating this winter! It has been cold and definitely uninspiring. I am definately a fan of warmer weather and I am excited about my garden growing this year, with plans to expand my veggie garden too. Our 'girls', aka our chooks (!) are laying lovely organic eggs each day and after school drop-off each day I am enjoying a fried egg and smoked salmon! It is going to be a good spring and summer for us here as we produce more of our own goodies to eat and I get sewing, which we are all looking forward to! I have planted outside my sewing room window and this is much better than looking at my neighbours brick wall.  The girls have put in orders for a music bag each, and a small bag with a strap across their bodies. Phoebe needs one to carry her juice and biscuits in for Diabetic hypos and Ava just wants one!

I will post some photos over coming weeks fo all the lovely things going on! Ava's birthday tomorrow so I also need to make a cake! Thankfully, a short order- a cake in the shape of a number 8 with chocolate ladybirds and peppermint leaves. Totally manageable for me!

Until then..xx

Time flies...

Really? It's been that long since I last posted? Got to get into gear! I keep hearing about people around me making their dreams happens and I am exploring lots of ideas but yet to settle on one. I don't want to pressure my choices, but I am keen to get doing, making and being...in a new creative space that will satisfy me, but also, just maybe, earn some money! So, head down, bum up. It's school holidays again, but some of my best work happens then when we are busy having fun! Looking forward to being with my girls! Xx

The day has come...dadadah!

I have decided that tomorrow is the day. I have worked my way around the house and left the hardest room to last.  My room!  Tomorrow I am going to rescue it from the piles and mess that has been dumped during the school holidays and find my space again.

Then, I am going to take some pictures to remind myself how it needs to be to keep me inspired. When I look at other blogs and think about what i want to be doing, the biggest stumbling block is my space! It was beautiful and then holiday activity took over...

That's my plan and WILL have my space back again tomorrow.

I have to regardless, as Sam, http://girlonearl.blogspot.com.au
is coming over on thursday and she will expect it to be sorted!!

Sanity slowly returning...I hope!

Hello! Where to start?!? It's been so very busy with school holidays, a trip to Melbourne, school starting, a trip to the hospital AND our precious cat Sabrina having a very bad run this last week... I need to take a big deep breath! Amongst all this, I had an impromptu crochet lesson this afternoon at my friend Toni's house. Her dear Mum was Soo patient with me as I struggled to get my left hand to do the work! I think I got it and the proof will be in the doing I suppose! Will give it a go tomorrow...fingers crossed for success as keen to master it. I also had an unfortunate run-in with a guy pressure cleaning my neighbours' path which runs alongside my house... using my water!!! I came home to find a hose connected to my tap and the sound of pressure cleaning and many, many litres of water running away. A quick call to the real estate agent, and an onsite confrontation between them and problem solved. The owner brought me a lovely bunch of flowers to say sorry ( which was very lovely of her!) and an offer to cover the water used. Geez, I have to say though, I was very surprised at the lack of conscience in the guy. I thought it was illegal to do that...?? My sewing room has turned into the household dump as the chaos and torrid mess of school holidays is slowly cleared away. I hope to get in there soon... Until then, xx

Growing treasures in my garden!

Beautiful Coneflowers!

My garden never ceases to amaze me. A bit of rain and now sunshine and it is bursting!  And it looks like a country garden in the making and this pleases me!

I love flowers, and love my vegetables and fruit growing so it is such a pleasure to see my garden this morning.

And three white butterflies flit from plant to plant too, which cements my grin!

Enjoy!

My cucumber plants finally climbing up the teepee and strawberries too!

For Grace...singlets and a dress!

I decided to embellish some basic singlets I bought with some little treasures I have in my sewing room.  And, I have to say, the result is stunning! A vintage doily, belonging to either my mum or my nanny (not sure which now as all mixed in together), and some fabric remnants. Thanks to Steam-a Seam, the job was so easy!

For Grace, one lucky little girl!

New Year 2011

Happy New Year! We celebrated at Clarke's Pt, Woolwich last night and what a great night! We caught the bus and decided to sit where we got off and it was the best decision! Great views and we were all so happy, particularly when it was time to get back on the bus..we were right there! The fireworks were simply amazing and the company as well.
